  • Luxe X Tut, aka The "Parrotheads Litter" is 3 Weeks old!

We have gotten a lot of questions about the theme for this litter. No, the pups don't look like parrots... As Jimmie Buffet fans, we have been waiting for an opportunity to use a theme as a tribute to him, and so, we decided to call this litter the Parrotheads, if you know, you know... While every puppy is a treasure, destiny sometimes has other plans.  Despite around-the-clock feedings, a few pups faced challenges on their journey and failed to thrive despite our best efforts.  We are heartbroken by this loss as every pup is special to us.  This unfortunate side of breeding is rarely discussed, but we believe it must be shared to give a true depiction of what happens, “behind the scenes.”  Our spirits are lifted knowing that we have ten healthy pups who are not only surviving but thriving . Out of the ten healthy Cane Corso puppies, two charming males have already been reserved, but three handsome males are eagerly seeking loving homes. Additionally, five delightful female puppies are also eagerly waiting to shower their future families with love and happiness. Picks will be made in three more weeks. Ear crops are being scheduled this week, they will be performed between 7 and 8 weeks old. Bringing a puppy into your home is a significant decision, and it's essential to ensure that you are fully prepared to provide love, care, and attention to your new furry friend. Cane Corsos thrive on companionship and require ample exercise, structure and mental stimulation to lead healthy, happy lives. We are very selective in who we choose to make one our pups a part of their families. Over the past weeks we have received dozens of phone calls, text messages and puppy applications. The most difficult part of this process in not just finding a home for our pups, but finding the right home. If you have filled out an application and we have not replied yet, we will as soon as possible. • Impastables, Week III

Mostly pictures this time around, and a short video of the pups. Aside from that, the pups have received their first round of de-wormer and are getting bigger every day. Personalities are starting to come out, we'll post more on that later. At the moment, we still have some availability, if interested or if you have questions, feel free to reach out. *These pups are growing fast and have been given new collars. Because of this, a few pups have undergone a collar color change. The changes are as follows: Rigatoni was green, and he is now blue. Macaroni was silver, she is now white. Cavatappi was dark purple, she is now brown. • The Impastable Litter!!!

If you follow us on Facebook, by now, you have seen that not only are we raising a litter of Luxe’s puppies, but we are also raising a litter of Lyra’s puppies. Both litters were born within a few days of each other. Lyra's litter was born first. Luxe’s puppies have done a great job keeping us busy, so we are just a tad late on this blog post introducing Lyra’s pups. So without further ado, we present the “Impastable Litter.” Lyra is our first Cane Corso, she is incredibly special to us. Lyra has a great temperament, she is good with children, and does great with new people and new situations, assuming we are as well. We have had Lyra’s hips tested through PennHip and her scores placed her in the top 5% for the breed. Her elbows were tested through OFA and she has also been DSRA tested and she is clear. Lyra is a United Kennel Club Conformation Champion and has earned points towards her AKC Conformation Champion title, including 1 major. Additionally, Lyra has earned her American Kennel Club BCAT and FITB titles. She is the epitome of a Cane Corso; loyal to her family, a protector, high drive and excellent athleticism. This will be Lyra’s last litter. As soon as she has fully recovered from raising her pups, she will be spayed. This litter produced 3 males and 8 females of which 1 male and 1 female have been reserved. To help identify the pups, we have used different colored collars and as the litter theme suggests, we decided to have a little fun this and name each pup after a type of pasta. Gender, collar color and names are as follows: Males = Red – “Spaghetti”, Yellow- “Fettucine” Green – Rigatoni. Females: Maroon – “Penne”, Hot Pink – “Ravioli, Dark Purple – Cavatappi, Light Purple – Ziti, Teal – “Linguine”, Silver – “Macaroni”, Pink – “ Bucatini, last but not least: Black – “Al Dente” We hope you will follow along as we do our best to update via our blog. If you have interest in owning one of these pups, please contact us!

  • Luxe X Tut pups, week 1(ish) Update

The pups are almost two weeks old at this point.  This litter has been challenging to say the least.  In addition to the emergency C-Section and unplanned spay, a few of the puppies require additional feedings to help Luxe keep up.  We spend a lot of our time bottle feeding and for the first time ever, we’ve also been tube feeding a few of the stragglers.  While the thought of tube feeding was never anything we considered, once again Dr. Jesse at Cheney Vet Clinic was willing to take time out of his day to teach us.  At the very least, being able to tube feed is another tool in our box.  Hopefully, we will not be forced to use that tool again, but if we are, we will be prepared. Unfortunately, we lost our light purple collar, gray female.  Losing pups is one of the most difficult things to deal with when breeding dogs.  A lot of kennels do not like to mention anything on this topic.  However, we believe it is best to be fully transparent. Currently, 3 males and 8 females have not been reserved.  Not much has surfaced in the way of personality at this time.  We are fairly certain we have a few black, gray, and brindle females.  With the males, there are black and brindle pups available.  We expect these pups to have great substance, structure and temperament.  If you are interested in a pup from this litter, contact us.  Our Puppy Application can be found here: https://forms.wix.com/f/7091212085614346859   We can also be found on Facebook and Instagram.

  • Luxe X Tut Puppies Have Arrived!!!

We are excited to announce that we welcomed 13 puppies into the world on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. When Luxe went into labor for her last litter, she did so overnight, during a blizzard and with the power out. To say it was chaotic would be an understatement. With Luxe being Luxe, Chaos ensued this time around as well. Luxe quietly went into labor in the overnight hours, had it not been for a camera mounted over her whelping box and around the clock monitoring, we would have never known. Throughout the last week we had been monitoring her temperature and when it dropped to 99 degrees, we knew the puppy’s arrival was imminent. Unfortunately, after over 12 hours of labor Luxe had only delivered five of the estimated 13 puppies she was carrying. After multiple phone calls to Dr. Jesse Birney at the Cheney Animal Clinic, it was determined that the best course of action would be a Caesarean Section. So, we loaded Luxe and her puppies into the Suburban and away we went. We cannot say enough good things about all the staff at the Cheney Animal Clinic. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted by a professional and well-prepared staff. Within 20 minutes, the first of Luxes remaining puppies were delivered. Thankfully, all the remaining pups were delivered alive. Unfortunately, Luxe was spayed. She has always been a beloved member of our family, and she will remain here, in retirement. On a brighter note, we have 5 fantastic males and 8 beautiful female pups available. These pups are from legitimate Champion bloodlines, determined by the American Kennel Club. We have posted a few pictures of the puppies below and a few pictures of Luxe and Tut. If you are interested in adding a puppy to your family, please reach out. Each of our pups will be dewormed, come with age-appropriate vaccines, and will have their tails docked. Additionally, they will all carry a 2-year health warranty and lifetime breeder support. We look forward to hearing from you.   Our Puppy Application can be found here: https://forms.wix.com/f/7091212085614346859

  • Luxe x Tut Puppy Radiographs

We already confirmed Luxe's pregnancy by way of a Belly labs Relaxin test.  We did not know she would have such a large litter again. The image above is a cellphone camera picture of Luxe's radiograph taken today, Friday, August 9, 2024.  We are pretty confident there are at least 13 puppies in there.  Due to the size of this litter, we have opened additional reservations for males and females.  A few of the spots have already been taken for male and female puppies.  Please reach out if you are interested in one of these pups.  We are expecting large, well boned dogs, with excellent temperaments, due any day. • Vae Victis Patience Is A Virtue (Luxe) x Heart Of The Corso King Tut Of Loveland (Tut), litter due mid-August 2024!

We are excited to announce a confirmed pregnancy from a breeding between Luxe and Tut.  We have had our eye on Tut for some time and have been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to put him with a female from our program, it was just a matter of finding the female that complimented him best.  We first met him when he and his family stopped for a break at a local convenience store, at the same time we did.  Tut was only a few months old at the time, but we were instantly taken aback by his excellent structure, head type and temperament.  To top things off, his owners, Whitney and Corey Loveland, turned out to be great people with whom we have built a great working relationship and more importantly, a friendship with.  The Loveland’s are hard-working, honest and loyal people who also share a passion for the Cane Corso breed. This was the perfect example of right place, right time and right people. Those that have been following our program for a while already know all about Luxe.  She is the daughter of Tiernan and Lyra.  Luxes’ parents are AKC/UKC champions and also hold titles in FastCAT. Her Grandparents on Tiernan's side are an AKC Grand Champion and an AKC Champion.  On her mother, Lyra’s side, Luxe’s grandfather is an AKC Champion.  Luxe is a very large female with great substance and high drive. In addition to her impressive bone and substance, she is exceptionally athletic. Luxe has been Pennhip and OFA tested and received passing scores for both.  Most importantly, Luxe has the best temperament. She possesses many qualities that we adored in her father, Tiernan, and she is a constant reminder of him with her loving disposition and eagerness for belly rubs.  She is fiercely protective of her family, yet very loving and trusting of those who deserve it, just as a true Corso should be. Tut was bred by Heart Of The Corso out of Ohio.  His father is an AKC Grand Champion, and his mother is an International Champion. He’s lived with Whitney and Cory on their farm since he was 8 weeks old where he gets to spend his days keeping their horses in line and rounding up “his” cows at night.  Just as with Luxe, Tut has been health tested and has been found to have excellent hips.  Tut has excellent structure, a gorgeous head and excellent movement.  Additionally, and arguably, most importantly, Tut has a fantastic temperament. Shortly after Luxe’s last litter was born, we stopped providing updates via our blog due to multiple hacking attempts from a known source.  We thought it would be appropriate to revive the blog with this litter, from Luxe.  We are happy to report that Luxe whelped and raised her large litter of 13 pups proving herself to be an excellent mom throughout the entire 8 weeks the pups were with us. She still mothers our keeper from that litter, Aspen with a kind but firm hand, or paw 😊 The decision to breed Luxe again, after her litter in January was an easy one. Despite having such a large litter and being a first-time mom, Luxe shined in motherhood. She loved her puppies and adored being a mom to them. She recovered with ease and was back to her antics not long after the pups went to their new homes. Our objective with this litter, as with every other pairing from us, is to better the breed. We are constantly examining our breeding dogs looking for ways to improve each generation. With this pairing we hope to produce a litter of pups with excellent bone and substance, superior heads, great movement and fantastic temperaments. Luxe, being such a large female will bring additional bone and substance. Tut’s excellent structure and movement will ensure the pups glide effortlessly, just like he does. Tut has a very true-to-breed type head, with Luxe’s large head and longer muzzle these pups will have the trademark large mastiff head that Corsos are known for while still being able to perform the duties that they were bred to do. We have been anxiously awaiting the day that we can share this news with you all, now that it is finally here we can start the countdown to the pup's arrival. Only about 25 days to go!! We will continue to use this blog to post updates.  If you are interested in a puppy from this litter feel free to fill out our puppy application, and we will contact you ASAP.

  • Bugatti's Final Run

When we brought Bugatti to her first FastCAT trial she did what many dogs do, she stood and watched the lure as it was pulled down the course.  It took a few more runs before it “clicked”, from that point on she was addicted to chasing the white trash bag. At the end of 2023, Bugatti was ranked as the #1 fastest Cane Corso in The United States.  Her three fastest runs averaged 27.54 miles per hour.  She is currently ranked #6 all-time. Going into 2024 she needed just over 30 points to finish her DCAT. Bugatti started her FastCAT “career” with the Salina Kennel Club.  They were the first kennel club in the state to host FastCAT events and we were and still are very grateful to them for all they have done for the sport in the State of Kansas.  Bugatti eventually earned her BCAT through the Salina Kennel Club and we were excited when the Wichita Kennel Club began hosting events that were essentially right in our backyard. If you have been participating in FastCAT over the past few years, you are aware that the popularity of the event has exploded.  There were times when you’d have to travel out of state to find a full event, most of the events in Kansas were just starting so there weren’t many dogs competing.  Unfortunately, with the tremendous growth in popularity comes many negative items which we will not go into detail about in this blog post. On Saturday, April 13th, 2024, we took Bugatti and Narco to compete in the FastCAT trial hosted by the Oklahoma Green County French Bulldog Club, outside of Chandler Oklahoma.  The Wichita Kennel Club was hosting trials the same weekend, but it was time for a change of scenery.  To say the drive to Oklahoma was worth it is an understatement.  The event was hosted and run by a group of professional, friendly dog lovers.  The Course was run with efficiency, we were scheduled for the 10 AM flight and we were in and out of there by 11 AM.  If you’re thinking about making the drive, we recommend it.  It was great to meet new friends and see a few familiar faces from past FastCAT events. At the end of the day, Bugatti completed her two runs and earned her DCAT.  It is unlikely that we will enter Bugatti in a future event, she has been officially retired from FastCAT.

  • Mattis X Amarula puppies are here!!

Just like in our past litter announcement, we wanted to take a minute and provide our desired outcome, or what we hope to achieve out of this breeding.  This will be short and to the point, but will also serve as an explanation of sorts, of why we are so excited for this litter.  The easiest way to go about this would be to lay out what we believe to be the pros and cons/strengths and weaknesses of both Mattis and Amarula, essentially how the two dogs complement each other. Mattis:                                                             Amarula: Good head type and muzzle length       Needs more length in muzzle Bite, scissor with full dentition               Slight undershot, within standard, full dentition Topline, flat/straight                                Topline, flat/straight Croup, slightly rounded                          Croup, slightly sloped, straight Rear angulation, on the straight side     Rear angulation, moderate & correct Feet, tight                                               Feet, tight “cat like” Movement, on the tight side                  Movement, effortless & free flowing Drive, moderate                                      Drive, moderate to high Temperament, correct                            Temperament, correct Our goal with this litter is to improve movement, bring more substance and improve rear angulation. We expect these pups to have great temperaments, have good drive and be excellent companions. Pups were born April 5, 2024.  There are two females and nine males in this litter.  With the exception of 1 formentino female, all the other pups appear to be gray at this time. Of course, this could change as the pups grow.  Both females are reserved and four males are still available.  Please reach out if you have questions or are interested in a pup from this litter. • Winter Wonders Week III update

Week three has been marked by continued growth and development.  We close out the week with 13 healthy pups, all of whom are walking and have completely opened their eyes. The best part?  They are becoming vocal; barks, growls, whining, and howling, it’s great. Not many things match the sound of 13 Cane Corso puppies "singing" all at the same time… Cooperation from these pups is a rarity. Luxe continues to slowly take a step back and from the pups.  She has reduced the amount of time she spends cleaning the pups and increased the amount of time and distance she spends away from them.  While she continues to nurse them, we are getting closer to starting them on “puppy mash.”  The pups will also be moved into a larger area very soon. Just as in the past, we have provided a few pics of the pups while we still can.  In the coming weeks, as the pups become more and more mobile, it will be much more of a challenge to capture them on camera. Because of this, we will likely change from stills to short videos of the pups, up until the time picks are made. We hope you enjoy the pictures. As you can see, some are more "cooperative" than others.... The Boys: Denali: Aquilo: Boreas: Oller: The Girls: Demetria: Aspen: Neve: Ana: Yuki: Morana: Chione: Elsa: Aisi: Candids:

  • Winter Wonders, Week II Update!

The last two weeks have passed so quickly, it is hard to believe the pups are two weeks old.  They're actually, two days shy of two weeks to be exact. Moving forward, we are going to make this more of a “Winter Wonders Weekend Update, With Vae Victis.”  Publishing a blog post on the weekend is so much easier to do and simply makes more sense than a Tuesday release. The pups are all doing great.  Each pup will receive their first round of de-wormer this week.  We will continue to de-worm Luxe and her pups every two weeks until they go home to their new families.  We continue to provide supplemental bottle feedings to the pups several times per day.  Luxe is starting to stray from the whelping box more and more often.  She will wander just far enough to take a break from her pups, but not so far that she can no longer hear them, she has proven herself to be a fantastic mother. Developmentally speaking, most of the puppies have opened their eyes completely and others are partially opened. Ears aren't quite open yet, but the pups are already experts at using their noses. The pups are also beginning to figure out how to use their legs. This is exciting news and it also means our work is going to get even more involved, very soon. Imagine, 13 little velociraptors, sharp teeth, and claws, all coming to greet you at the same time, we love it. This also means we will soon move the pups to a larger enclosure. The move will give them more room to play and develop. The move will also provide a "designated" play, sleep, eat, and potty area. In an attempt to illustrate their continued growth, we have done our best to attach at least one individual picture of each puppy.  Our success depends greatly on the cooperation of 13 two week old puppies. We have also provided a few “group” photos.  As always, we are grateful to the families who have chosen and trusted us to provide them with their new family members.  Only six weeks to go and your pups will be home with you.  Until that time, we will do our best to keep everyone updated on the progress of this litter. Of course, once picks are made, we do intend to continue updates. All the male pups in this litter have been reserved. We still have three females available with limited AKC registration. Feel free to contact us with any inquiries.
